Learning a bit about your therapist can help determine if we are a good fit.
My goal for my therapy practice is to help other helping professionals create time and space to prioritize their mental health. Healthcare workers, firefighters, police officers, mental health providers, those working in education and many other helping professional work tirelessly to provide the best care for those they serve, but rarely set aside time to focus on their own mental and physical health.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State (MC 61376814). I completed my Masters at Northwestern University, training with a Psychodynamic lens. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including community mental health and inpatient mental health. I have experience working with people in crisis in the context of a pediatric psychiatry unit. In addition to my therapy experience, I have been a registered nurse serving my community over the last eight years.
My time working at the bedside made it very clear that our medical system is not holistic in its approach to care. Therefore, I went back to school to learn and develop the skills to better serve my patients and community. I continue to work as a registered nurse part-time.
In my personal time, I enjoy hiking, playing instruments and reading a good book. I also foster animals with the help of my crew of 3 dogs (Pippa, Bentley and Jax) and my cat, Anakin.
